Partner Jet Skiing

·         Partner Jet skiing will allow guests with disabilities and their family and friends to enjoy a fun filled ride around the resort with a staff member who is trained in using the machinery and also dealing with people who have a disability.  Family members and friends who do not have a disability are able to ride alone on a separate jet ski.

 Equipment Needed:

·         Jet Skis

·         Life Jackets

·         First Aid

·         Harness to be strap the trainer to the rider if needed

·         Gas for Jet ski

·         Radio system in case of emergency

·         Accessible dock

·         Chair lift into the water

 Staff Qualifications:

·         CPR/First Aid certified

·         Lifeguard Certification

·         High level experience dealing with water sports and Special Recreation

·         College level or older

·         Clear background check/ drug test

·         Friendly and patient

 
Water Aerobics

·         Water Aerobics is offered to all resort guests but will have a special session at the same time every day for guests who have disabilities and need the class to be taught in a different manner.  A specialized instructor will insist on guiding a fun aerobics class to get everyone moving.  Other specialized staff with be moving around while the class is going on to help each guest if they need assistance.  Friends and family are welcomed to be included in this activity

Scuba Diving

·         Scuba Diving will be available to disabled guests as well.  The highly trained staff will be ready to give guests with a disability the same or similar experience as someone without a disability.  Calling ahead to make appointments is required for the activity. Lessons are included with the price to ensure the safety of participants

Beach Volleyball

·         This activity will be held twice a day to give guests who are disabled the opportunity to play volleyball on the beach.  They will have the option of playing with a real volleyball or a beach ball. There will be 3 sand courts and one rubber made court available so that the net can be adjusted to the height needed.  Staff will be working with the guests to ensure their safety and to make sure they have fun.

·         Volleyballs

·         Beach Balls ( different sizes)

·         Rope for boundary lines

·         Whistles

·         Radio in case of emergency

·         First aid kit

 Staff Qualifications

·         CPR/First Aid certified

·         High level of experience with special recreation and working with people that have special needs

·         College level or higher

·         Clear background/drug test

·         Friendly and Patient

·         Knowledge of volleyball

 
Hula Lessons

·         Hula Lessons will be available to all guests.  This is a inclusion activity to make all guests enjoy the Hawaiian culture together.  There will be several chanced to learn the Hula dance throughout the week.  Times will vary depending on the day of week.  No registration or fee is needed.

·         Experience in Hula Dance

·         Friendly

Fishing on the Sea

·         This activity will be an opportunity to go out on the ocean with experienced fishermen to see what really lies beneath the water.  There will be two boats that depart from the resort, one will go for a longer period time for those who want a longer fishing time and one boat will only be out for a shorter time for those who cannot be out for long periods of time.  There will be many staff on board to make sure each guest is helped along the process.

·         Automatic Fishing Line

·         Bait & tackle

·         Boat that is equip with refrigerator for food and water

·         Chair Lift

·         Life Jackets

·         Radio in case of emergency

·         Clips to connect fishing pole to chairs for those who may not be able to grip the pole

·         Sunscreen

·         First Aid Kit

·         Standing umbrellas to block extra sunlight if guest needs it

 Staff Qualifications:

 ·         CPR/First Aid Certified

·         Fishing License

·         Experience in ocean Fishing

·         Boat license

·         Experience in dealing with special need guests

·         Outgoing and patient

·         College level or higher
